Manage tax research and consulting function related to the company’s federal, state and international tax obligations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES * Manage federal, state, and international income tax research, including modeling and reducing cash tax outlays, filing accounting method changes, monitoring and analyzing pending legislation and other tax developments, providing accurate and timely tax advice to the company’s personnel, implementing internal restructurings, and working with outside advisors. * Manage federal and state income tax audits, appeals, and litigation, including responding to document requests from tax authorities, developing legal positions on issues, and working with outside advisors. * Manage tax aspects of acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and financing transactions, including conducting due diligence, modeling of alternatives, providing tax advice on legal documents, collaborating with the company’s development department, and coordinating with appraisers and other outside advisors. * Manage certain of the company’s financial reporting for income tax processes, including the ASC 740 (FIN 48) process, the effective state income tax rate calculation, and the global tax rate calculation. * Manage a 16-person group within the tax department, including handling all associated administrative matters.
- Minimum of 10 years of corporate tax experience in a corporate tax department, accounting firm, and/or law firm.
- Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
