*Grand Strand Medical Center *is a 301-bed acute care hospital serving the residents of the Myrtle Beach, SC, area. Our hospital offers the only cardiac surgery program, neurosurgery program and pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) in Horry and Georgetown counties and is a designated Level II trauma center by DHEC and the American College of Surgeons.
We are recognized by the Joint Commission for our sepsis program and as a top performer in key quality measures for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care. In addition, we have received awards from the American Heart Association for our treatment of heart attacks and stroke.
We are looking for a new Manager of Special Projects and Regulatory Compliance, reporting to the Facilities Director, and responsible for the following:A. Overseeing and coordinating all regulatory programs and construction projects as assigned. and coordinating all regulatory programs and construction projects as assigned. B. Collecting and retaining data records regarding testing, inspection and maintenance of all affiliated programs. Analyzing and applying process improvements to these programs and ensure that all programs are tailored to the current or adopted codes in which the inspecting agencies are using to evaluate facilities. C. The Special Project and Regulatory Coordinator will also oversee and coordinate the efforts of service vendors in order to achieve compliance of repairs associated with discrepancies found during inspections. D. Interpreting and comprehending applicable codes, rules and regulations as they relate to Hospitals. E. Conducting evaluations and adjustments to all aspects of records for life safety systems, the fire prevention plan and the utility management plan. F. Developing/revising policies, procedures and management plans to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and AHJ’s. G. Assisting with the planning and execution of all emergency drills throughout all GSMC facilities. H. Overseeing construction activities, as directed by the Director of Facility Management, including but not limited to ICRA, ILSM, and quality control inspections. Coordinating shut-downs with contractors and hospital staff, ensuring contingency plans are in place. I. Triaging service requests and assigning work orders to staff members. Assisting in securing necessary resources for part and equipment allocation. Communicating work order status with hospital staff. J. Creating PM schedules on all critical equipment and regulated equipment K. Generating metrics to demonstrate performance and drive improvements. L. Complete any other tasks as needed or as directed by management.
- Education:High School graduate or GED equivalency.
Experience: Extensive training and experience: 6-8 years experience in a healthcare environment preferred, with a minimum of 2 years supervision or business ownership experience.
Special qualifications:Must be knowledgeable in NFPA, international, state and federal regulations for building and healthcare.* *Knowledge of the environment of care standards and OSHA guidelines preferred.
