HCA, Hospital Corporation of America Clinical Coordinator (RN) - Surgical Step Down (SSU) - FT in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
The Critical Care Clinical Coordinator (RN) provides management to the staff and functions of the Surgical Step-down Unit (SSU, 3West). Responsibilities are assigned by the Director of the Nursing Department. The overarching focus of the Critical Care Clinical Coordinator (RN) is the day-to-day delivery of patient care and long term growth and development of the staff and the services provided by the unit.
Licensure/Certification/Registration : Current licensure in the state of South Carolina as a Registered Nurse. BLS required prior to hire and ACLS within 6 weeks of hire and ACLS instructor required within 6 months of hire. CCRN or PCCN certification preferred and if neither held at hire, then PCCN must be obtained within one year of start in position.
Education: BSN Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing, MSN preferred. Must obtain MSN within four years of start in position with active enrollment within 2 years of starting position
Experience: Five years’ recent experience in acute care with progressive care surgical unit preferred. At least two years of experience in a nursing leadership position preferred. Physically and mentally capable to satisfy job requirements.
Special Qualifications: Effective communication skills both orally and written, with flexible interpersonal skills to facilitate the exchange of information within all levels of the Organization. Ability to effectively read, write, and speak fluent English. Computer skills, such as MS Office products, required. Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care and improved outcomes. Strong problem solving skills as evidenced by thoughtful planning of Unit’s goals in alignment with institutional goals. Creative and innovative skills in personnel management and ability to facilitate growth and development of department and staff. Ability to plan and execute work effectively and efficiently as measured by outcomes. Continued professional growth as evidenced by active membership in professional organizations and regular and frequent incorporation of evidenced based practices into work. Ability to work well with people and provide guidance and leadership. Thorough knowledge of nursing practice theory, principles, and procedures in adult progressive care. Understanding of nursing leadership theory and practices.
