Job Description:

Parts Definition Engineer will be responsible for interacting with internal and external customers on parts issues to aid spare parts sales. Responsibility to regional sales team and key customer accounts to improve configuration, establish maintenance planning sessions to improve forecasting, improve customer satisfaction, and drive sales.

Manage outsource engineering resources in the completion of the spares list for the baseline, each new unit project, and legacy projects. Take lead of Spares definition and work with project management, project engineers, and subject matter experts to ensure spares lists are complete and correct.

The Parts Definition Engineer works in cooperation with the Parts Application Engineer to ensure that the regions spare parts needs are met.

  • Manage key customer programs related to parts / maintenance plans

  • Prepare project plans.

  • Produce cost and margin analysis, project and business risk analysis, bid approval documentation, and terms and conditions.

  • Manage Quality

  • Manage production / maintenance of the spare part baselines.

  • Respond to customer parts issues through the RCI process.

  • Manage outsourcing projects to review project specific scope and vendor submissions and produce new unit project spares lists.

  • Improve definition of parts in Siemens system.

  • Manage outsourcing projects to produce recommended spares lists to support the aftermarket spares business.

  • Conduct technical review and audit of baseline documentation with Subject Matter Experts and technical review and audit of final project documentation with Project Lead Engineer.

  • Support legacy projects with review of obsolete parts for definition of suitable replacements.

Key attributes:

  • Bachelor ofEngineering

· 2 years of experience

· Understanding of Gas Generator, Power Turbine, Unit Control Panel, Package Support Systems and the Bill of Material System.

· Understanding of a wide variety of process equipment and maintenance procedures.

· Ability to develop / manage project schedules and cross functional resources.

· Experience with conducting design audits

· Ability to read and prepare design specifications, P&IDs, and assembly drawings

· Knowledge of Industry Standards and Certification requirements (ASME, ASTM, NEC, IEC, CE Directives)

· Ability to develop / manage project schedules and resources.

· Computer skills –SAP, PDM, Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point and Access. Team Center and Unigraphics knowledge a plus
