Software Engineering Intern (17001085)THIS IS A PAID INTERNSHIPASRC Federal Holding, Mission Solutions (AFMS), is seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to support the continued development and sustainment of the U.S. Navy's Aegis Weapons System in Moorestown, New Jersey. Candidates will have the opportunity to use their software development skills in the four primary AWS sub-systems developed by MSE: Radar, Weapons Control, Command and Control, and Advanced Display.This is an internship/co-op opportunity for current college students who have interest in Software Engineering. This is a paid internship.Responsibilities:Work in a collaborative team using agile development methodology, performing the following tasks:Performs subsystem definition, preliminary and detailed software design, design implementation, subsystem and system integration, and testing.Participates in software requirements review, preliminary and critical design reviews, integration readiness review, and software acceptance reviews.Researches problems and develops solutionsJob Requirements:Classroom/internship experience developing software with Java SE and CClassroom/internship experience with unit test software harnesses like Junit, cppUnitLite.Demonstrate an understanding of object-oriented concepts including Data Abstraction, encapsulation, polymorphism and inheritance.Demonstrate an understanding of Unified Modeling Language (UML) to describe software design concepts.Able to recognize syntax and artifacts with an understanding of how the artifacts translate to source codeUnderstand and recognize design patterns in UML and source code.Classroom/internship experience working in various operating systems such as Windows, Solaris, and other variants of UNIX.Classroom/internship experience with various scripting languages such as Python, Perl, JavaScript, PHP, etc.Strong skills with MS Office and Integrated Development Environments (IDE) such as Eclipse and NetBeansExcellent communication skillsUS Citizenship in order to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.Experiencewith the following tools is considered a plus:GIT (Version Control software)Junit/CppUnitLite (Software Unit Test)Agile Development Project Management toolJIRA (Issue and bug tracking tool)Commercial/Open source UML Modeling ToolEducation:Studying toward a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field.ASRC Federal is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
