Field Technical Consultant, IoT (Internet of Things)

The purpose of this role is to engage work with channel partners to identify IoT opportunities, engage customers and move opportunities towards closure. Effectively mobilize and align resources of hardware, software and service partners to engage end customers cohesively and in a team based approach.

Responsibilities:

Provide Engineering Technical support to (Reseller) Partners. Serve as primary technical enablement advisor to reseller partners by developing and executing essential technology roadmap guidance. Collaborate with Partners’ executive, sales, and technical teams satisfy partner technology growth objectives. Provide solution design and architecture services to reseller partner and respective end users. Utilize technical knowledge to augment and supplement Partner sales rep’s and SE in opportunity identification, system configuration, and pre-sales presentations.

Develop technical strategies to disseminate vendor products, capabilities, and functionality that support partner business objectives. Work with reseller client to grow practice areas by either getting deeper and more skilled within existing practice, or modeling building new practice areas. Assist with the technical solutions capabilities to grow/build practice. Analyze customers’ business objectives and assess current technical capabilities by asking probing questions.

Validate and finalize the most suitable vendor solution that addresses customers’ “pain points”. Consults, communicates, presents and advocates technology at all levels of an organization. Drive Partner Technical Proficiency and Readiness by developing Partner autonomy through live product training and new product introduction. Proactively educate Partners on vendor rollouts and solution sets. Travel up to 70% (May include international).

Requirements:

  • More than 5 years of experience in selling to multiple verticals and lines of business using consultative approach

  • The ability to engage in new business development and funnel management activities with focus on IoT vertical market developments.

  • Possess deep understanding of IoT and application on IoT in different verticals

  • Ability to lead cross functional team of both technical and non-technical resources and ensure all stakeholders are in alignment

  • Communicate/write effectively and give presentations to various audiences;

  • Passion for technology and use apply technology to solves problems and achieve desired business outcome

  • Experience with responding to RFP/RFI - develop and deliver presentations and proposals

Proficiency with MS Office, Explorer, Visio, MS Project, MS Access

A University degree in business, engineering, computer science with 5 -7 years of previous related experience.

Ability to apply technology to create business solutions;

Demonstrate strong knowledge of IT

Bilingual: French and English would be an asset
