Software Strategist(SWS) for Automated Driving Active Safety

Manage software contentfor all Automated Driving Active Safety EOCM controller builds and ensuresoftware integration requirements are met on-time with the "world'sbest" quality.

Itis this engineer's responsibility to work with internal and external customersthroughout the entire project lifecycle.This will include managingproject schedules and clearly communication the identified risks.Thisengineer should be comfortable explaining the analysis and recommendations tohigher up project stakeholders.They should be able to discuss thetechnical trade-offs in the product development.

Key Responsibilities andDeliverables:

  • Execute Controls Process of Engineering (ECUPoE) to ensure software milestones for quality and content are met
  • Manage software change requests
  • Ensure all software change requests are closed on time
  • Support Feature or software BOM reviews for future software content
  • Review, document, and schedule software content changes for each Calibration Support Tools release
  • Specify level of KBT (key behavior testing) testing required and review the test results
  • Provide technical direction to other engineers or engineering support personnel
  • Support Software Integration Engineer in supplier software issue resolution and data file production release
  • SupportSoftware Integration Engineer with controller resource issues (ROM, RAM, and Throughput)
  • Coordinate, review, and resolve software issues through integration team meeting participation
  • Initiate and evaluate trade off studies and product suggestions
  • Lead and Participate in Software code reviews
  • Support the Engineering Group Manager in defining, managing and prioritizing allocated resources to complete tasks.
  • Investigate and respond to software issues within the required time frame
  • Champion implementation of new processes and tools within the CST

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge and 5-10 years of experience in Embedded Controls software development
  • Knowledge and experience with ECU controller and data file release process
  • Knowledge and experience in Control system hardware/software implementation, integration and test
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Project Management
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and serial data communications (GMLAN, LIN)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in working with system/software/hardware requirements development and validation
  • Demonstrated proficiency in both written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a Global environment

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Automated Driving Active Safety features and/or GM Product Line Software
  • 5+ years of experience developing microprocessor-based real-time controls in high level (C) language
  • Experience using RTC, GDM, VCDM, GDFRS
  • Experience with Simulink, Stateflow, software code generation, ETAS, and Vector Tools

Education and Training

  • BS Degree EE, ME or CE/CS Engineering required
  • MS Degree EE, ME or CE/CS Engineering preferred
  • Black Belt required
