The Ops-Tech Implementation Manager is a rotational role, responsible for implementing, setting up, and building deep expertise in Amazon Logistics’ next generation operations technologies at new operations, after which the position rotates into an operations leadership role.
The Ops-Tech Implementation Manager will implement new technology platforms, feature rollouts and related operational processes and manage the user and site acceptance tests. They will also support last-mile route management, execution and in-station configurations including initial development of routes and on-going updates based on operations feedback. They will then have an opportunity to transition into a shift manager role and be responsible for the day-to-day operations of an Amazon Delivery Station (24/7 last-mile carrier site) which includes inbound, outbound and sortation operations. Delivery Stations represent the last leg of our delivery network. In the role the managers will actively engage with site and regional operations leadership to implement new operational improvements and new services. This unique transitional role provides valuable experience for new leaders across both technology and operations.
Rollout and implement new technology platforms, features and related process changes.
Lead the implementation of the technology and support for launches with new technology tools to work out bugs, test and learn, iterate training material and develop/iterate SOPs.
Troubleshoot problems through to resolution, escalating as necessary
Provide on-site support to include a key User Acceptance Test (UAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) to measure delivery of technology versus what was asked.
Develop technology training and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), review and update them.
Manage technology related configuration overheads for implemented systems
Review weekly metrics related to new technology implementations and rollouts.
Oversee the delivery of Amazon orders to customers
Build, optimize, and assign delivery routes on your shift
Communicate with and respond to Amazon Customer Service associates on delivery exceptions and requests
Support Amazon operations leadership team in daily operations management of the delivery station, including route assignment, leading meetings, and communicating with internal and external suppliers.
Ensure compliance throughout the site to global process standards and work on continuous improvement initiatives
A completed Master's Degree in Engineering/Operations with 2+ years of experience or a completed Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Operations with 4+ years or experience or 2+ years of Amazon experience
Experience in leading technology related projects and advanced Excel skills
Strong Bias for Action and willingness to roll up your sleeves
Strong desire to progress into a direct management role in operations
Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights, and holidays
Operations or manufacturing experience dealing with technology
Experience in leading projects and programs in an operational setting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively to a large group
Experience with performance metrics and process improvement
