We are currently hiring a* Customs Brokerage Supervisor.This position*will be responsible for the supervision of the Import/Export Customs Clearance team to ensure compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt, and documentation of imported/exported products.

Key Tasks & Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the supervision of the Clearance Team.

  • Supervise and direct the day-to-day activities to ensure productivity goals are met.

  • Assist in monitoring and enforcing policies, procedures and service standards for import operations activity

  • Ensure US Customs import regulations are followed for all shipments imported into the US.

  • Assist in controlling expenses within the department

  • Responsible for processing high volumes of work, coordinate, perform and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet established deadlines

  • Be responsible for employee performance evaluation, training, motivation, and counseling, recognition of promotions and discipline of assigned employees

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Typically requires BS/BA and 2-4 years experience in custom brokerage, including 2 years supervisory experience.

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point) database and web-based applications.

  • Strong oral and written communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong commitment to excellence, and the ambition to meet and exceed company standards.

  • Must pass FAA and TSA background and security checks to acquire a SIDA badge to work at Airport.

  • Flexibility to work various hours as needed

  • Complete understanding and wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in import/ export custom brokerage

  • An advanced understanding of specific aspects of work supervised and practical application to problems and situations ordinarily encountered

  • Knows and effectively uses fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures relative to quality and productivity improvements, training, budgeting and cost control, and progressive techniques in area of specialization

  • Understands basic supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, and disciplinary action.
