Sources and purchases aerospace fasteners and parts, as well as other goods, supplies and services necessary for operation of an organization. Compiles and analyzes data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records. May prepare bid packages.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver on savings and inventory requirements as per the commodity and business strategies.
Conduct Analysis to determine if orders need to be placed to meet global procurement requirements
Select suppliers, negotiate pricing, issue purchase orders, follow up, and expedite as necessary
Responsible for analyzing assigned part numbers and queue management
Work closely with Sales department on customer requests and requirements to determine best course of action.
Submit RFQ/RFP in accordance with procurement requirements
Confirm Purchase Order acknowledgments and verify accuracy of PO details
Collaborate with Quality department on defective or unacceptable goods, and determine appropriate course of action. Complete actions as necessary to resolve issue.
Work cross-functionally and with suppliers on payment issue resolution.
Maintain awareness and understanding of department key deliverables and how buying decisions impact those deliverables.
Prepare and negotiate packages with suppliers to drive increased savings opportunities
Execution of strategic initiatives as provided by commodity leaders
Conducts market analysis and implement long term agreements in accordance with business strategies
Provides expertise on system and process improvement
Train other team member as required
General workload is 60% tactical and 40% strategic.
• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university, or international equivalent
Supply Chain Management; Business or other relevant field
Three to five years related experience and/or training
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System experience
Advanced negotiation skills
Intermediate analytical skills
Professional/ interpersonal verbal & written communication skills
Ability to effectively multi-task
Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency
Basic presentation skills
Advanced commodity / product knowledge
Experience with cost modeling/Cost driver structure
General knowledge of Aerospace compliance and regulations
