BAE Systems Eng Sr - Test in Merrimack, New Hampshire
BAE Systems is seeking a Test Engineer to support RF-based and mixed technology test equipment and Product manufacturing in its Merrimack NH facility. Working as a key member of ECS Sustainment Technical Operations Team, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the needs of the warfighter. ECS Sustainment supports a variety of RF, Digital, Fiber Optic and mixed-technology products on Current and Legacy programs that are critical to our Customers. This position will include the following activities:
Provide Test Engineering Support on a variety of test stands, interface fixtures and peripherals used to test assemblies, modules and circuit cards spanning RF, Analog and Digital. Determine whether problems are related to UUT or to Test Equipment, working with production resources, engineering or others as needed.
Support test equipment maintenance and calibration efforts on test stations, interface fixtures, and cabling.
Develop a solid spares inventory strategy for test equipment, prioritizing and driving closure on gaps. Identify, validate, disposition repair and stage spare equipment so it is ready to support test systems critical to production.
Interface with various Engineering, Operations, Materials and other supporting groups to drive defect resolution to root cause
Identify opportunities to improve Test Stand uptime, decrease cost and improve throughput.
Review the technical content of test procedures, drawings, engineering specifications, reports, Engineering Change Orders, and other documentation.
Interface with governmental customers, auditors, and vendors as required.
Provide training and direct support to manufacturing personnel.
Minimum Education And Experience
Bachelor's Degree and 5 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills And Education
BSEE, BSET or similar electrical degree required
Experience supporting RF-based and mixed technology test equipment
Familiarity with a variety of communications protocols such as Ethernet, RS232, RS485, HotLink, and MIL-STD-1553.
Familiarity with the Microsoft Windows (XP, Windows 7) Operating Systems and software developed on these platforms
Demonstrated ability to debug test equipment failures including calibration issues.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Solid teamwork skills
