Sr. Program Manager, Supply Chain - FBA Europe in Luxembourg, Luxembourg

The successful candidate will help develop and integrate programmatic solutions that lead to process and cost improvements across our European supply chain. This position requires a strong blend of bias for action and project management skills with the ability to conduct in-depth financial analyses, think big and identify strategic issues over the long-term. The position is pan-European in scope and requires a high level of interaction with Amazon’s supply chain and finance department in Luxembourg and in the European countries, as well as with FBA’s product management and operations teams in the U.S.

The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is a diverse and multicultural country located in the heart of Europe, bordered by France, Belgium and Germany, with a total population of around half a million. Luxembourg has Luxembourgish, French and German as national languages, with English spoken by the many expatriates and most locals. Responsibilities include:

Driving the implementation of Strategic Initiatives to optimize the Supply Chain

  • Deliver projects, features, processes and systems that improve transportation costs for both Amazon and Sellers

  • Develop and implement an inventory placement strategy that minimizes transportation costs and optimizes customer delivery times throughout Amazon’s EU fulfillment network.

  • Write business and technical requirements documents and ensure clear communication and coordination of requirements to the business and development teams.

  • Establish the business goals and supporting business metrics and indicators for success.

Monitoring the Supply Chain Performance

  • Monitor inventory/flow performance – (inbound deliveries, inventory health, transhipments between FC, cross border movements of goods)

  • Monitor Supply Chain performance for impact on customer experience – backlogs, Ship Estimate Accuracy, Delivery Estimate Accuracy, lead times and costs associated with cross border fulfillment

  • Monitor key supply chain cost drivers, such as units per outbound shipment, sellers inbound splits etc

  • Identify, prioritize and communicate key areas for service and business improvement along the key Supply Chain metrics, including cost savings opportunities

  • Graduate BA or BS degree required,

  • Familiar with finance and supply chain management

  • 5+ years of program and project management experience.

  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills.

  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.

  • Experience gathering and analyzing large amounts of data and delivering continuous business improvements.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated experience working in a cross-functional capacity

  • A strong appetite for teamwork, and a just-do-it attitude.

  • Well versed in Excel and SQL

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering or a Supply Chain/Operations discipline; MBA preferred

  • Experience in finance and a passion for numbers

  • Must possess excellent business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common sense approach to getting things done
