Join us and start doing your life's best work.SMThe Pharmacy Technician is responsible for answering incoming calls / completing outbound calls to / from patients, physicians and pharmacists while ensuring a high level of customer service and maximizing productivity.Positions in this function perform various duties related to the fulfillment of prescription orders.
Interprets physicians' prescriptions and creates order, accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from computer system, verifies whether order is reimbursable.
Dispenses any or all of the following: unit doses, specialty pharmaceuticals and injectable; may compound medications.
Consults with customers, patients and / or physicians regarding use of medications and potential drug interactions.
Consultations may be telephonic or in person.
Reviews and approves / denies requests for prescription prior authorizations.
Pharmacists must have a current license without restrictions and Pharmacy Technicians must have current state license or national certification without restrictions based on regulatory requirements of work site.Primary Responsibilities:Entering prescriptions and verifying appropriate informationContacting patients, pharmacists and doctor's offices to resolve claims issuesProcessing prescriptions (from intake to order completion)Resolving customer issues; ensuring accurate information is providedConstantly meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards while maintaining a good attendance recordBilingual skills will be an added benefitModerate work experience within own function.Some work is completed without established procedures.Basic tasks are completed without review by others.Supervision / guidance is required for higher level tasks. Requirements:High School Diploma / GEDExperience in using Microsoft Excel to create spreadsheets, Microsoft Word to create documents, and Microsoft Outlook to manage emailsLicensed Pharmacy Technician in the State of California1+ years of Pharmacy customer service experienceAssets:Bilingual (in General)National Certified Pharmacy TechnicianSoft Skills:Ability to remain focused and productive each day though tasks may be repetitivePhysical Requirements and Work Environment:Ability to stand on their feet constantly.Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands / fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods of close vision looking at a computer monitorService center environment with moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers, floor activityCareers with Optum.
