The Federal Reserve System Cash Product Office in Los Angeles has an exciting opportunity for aManager. As a manager in the CPO’s National Operations group, you will be responsible for administering and managing a variety of projects and tasks ranging from operational process improvement, supply chain management, operations and compliance support, custody controls, industry engagement to obtain market intelligence, application product management, and business continuity for the Federal Reserve System’s Cash business. You will be called on to lead the development of insightful quantitative and qualitative analyses of a wide array of operational issues.

/For 12th District Fed employees based outside of Los Angeles, open to individuals who are willing to work full time in Los Angeles for a minimum of 3 months when the position begins./

Additional Highlights of the Position:

Manage a team of analysts in the following tasks:

  • Prepare, interpret, and present a variety of operational analyses and PowerPoint presentations, including weekly/monthly reports, analyses of large datasets, and recommendations to executive management for decision making. Examples include status reports, monthly dashboards, and development of ad-hoc business models and papers.

  • Perform day-to-day project management and administration tasks in support of department-led projects and initiatives in a collaborative, team-based environment.

  • Establish and maintain effective customer relations with Reserve Bank peers, management, and industry stakeholders to meet short, mid, and long term national objectives.

  • Collaborate with all levels of the organization and industry stakeholders on decisions and strategic options that may have operational or financial impact to the business area.

  • Prepare and present information to diverse stakeholders within and outside of the organization.

  • Lead, motivate and coach a diverse staff of analysts, support ongoing development and engagement, including setting expectations and performance management.

  • Some travel, 10-25% of the time, will be required, based on assignments.


  • Undergraduate Degree in Business or related subject, or related work experience in a relevant field

  • 5 years of related experience to include 4 years in a leadership role such as team lead, project lead or supervisor

  • Strong skills in the areas of:

    o analytics, data mining, problem solving, critical thinking, organization, prioritization, multi-tasking, and follow-through;

    o verbal and written communication; ability to interact and work successfully with all levels of staff/management;

    o demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team; leading/facilitating meetings/project groups;

    o presenting qualitative and quantitative information to audiences while highlighting trends in a clear and concise manner in person, via phone or video conference;

    o managing and leading people, including the ability to provide candid constructive feedback to analysts and project team members with a focus on accountability and development;

    o managing projects;

    o demonstrating in-depth understanding of organizational structure and the ability to achieve desired results

  • Intermediate level knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)

  • Ability to coordinate and work with diverse groups of subject matter experts

  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder with the intent of becoming a US Citizen

Desired Skills:

  • Experience leading or supporting compliance, custody controls, business continuity, or policy implementations

  • Reserve Bank Cash operation experience, or comparable commercial Bank Cash operations experience
