Responsibilities: The Housing Specialist duties are summarized as:
• Provides assistance and linkage for homeless individuals while procuring necessary documents and services • Identify appropriate permanent housing options for participants, such as subsidized, Shelter Plus Care, Section 8, VASH, Permanent Supportive, and other housing options • Accurate, timely, consistent data entry into HMIS database • Ability to follow outlined agency and contractual policy and procedures and follow agency protocol • Maintain strict confidentiality of company data, participant data, and demonstrated ability to handle sensitive documents in a discreet, and professional manner • Develops and maintains inter-agency and community relationships • Other duties as assigned
Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience • 1-2 years experience with homeless population • 1-2 years experience working with HMIS database experience • Proficiency with Microsoft Office • Excellent oral, written communication skills
Additional Requirements: • Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred • Valid California driver's license, insurance and reliable transportation • Must have the ability to meet the physical requirements of this position
