VS–21 is sober program for young, sober Veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan without dependents. We provide transitional housing, case management and meals while addressing challenges such as unemployment, addiction, mental illness, and homelessness. The goal is to get young Veterans back into society with the knowledge and resources necessary to function independently. Assists homeless veterans with permanent housing, benefits, employment, medical support, financial literacy, social skills and much more while in a transitional housing environment.
Responsibilities: • Direct a full range of professional and para-professional employees in efficient program operations • Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations to senior management for program changes and improvements • Advise senior management regarding future program direction • Develop and maintain inter-agency and community relationships • Collaborate with other Adult Services program staff to formulate plans for effective program activities • Coordinate in-service training events for staff • Monitor program compliance to funding sources' regulations as well as internal policies and procedures
Requirements: • MSW or Master's degree in relevant field preferred • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university • 4-5 years of experience working in a human services leadership role • Proficiency with Microsoft Office • Effective written and oral communications skills (English)
Additional Requirements: • At least 2 years of experience working with veterans, people in recovery and/or homeless individuals • Prior experience as a supervisor or team leader managing 10 or more individuals with diverse backgrounds • Crisis resolution and problem-solving under stressful conditions • Demonstrate proficiency in MS Word and Excel as well as Internet use • Effective written and oral communications skills (English) • U.S. Veteran strongly preferred • Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred • Database experience • Timekeeping Experience (Novatime)
