Responsible, under supervision, for accurate and timely reporting of various accounting and finance duties supporting the division’s monthly financial statements. Extensive analysis, Deltek Costpoint familiarity and utilization, and exposure to a manufacturing business environment are required. Perform accounting transactions and analysis to support accurate and timely revenue recognition for POC/CtC/UoD projects as recorded in Costpoint. Perform various journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals for the closing cycles. Work closely with Controller and Chief Financial Officer to support month end reporting and special projects for both division management and our client.
Uses in depth skills, knowledge, and judgment to solve complex finance management problems, working from a total finance/management perspective.
Provides answers to a wide range of difficult problems, recognizing probable conflicts, and developing solutions that are thorough and practical.

Judgments and recommendations are relied upon for management decisions.
Interacts with and advises senior personnel on significant matters, representing the organization in providing solutions to difficult problems associated with specific projects.
Independently recommends and develops supplemental guidelines for existing procedures and/or creates them where none exist.
Examines and analyzes monthly financial data, records, statements, documents, journals, and demonstrates subject matter expertise for arriving at reasonableness, inconsistencies, and conformance with accounting/finance policy and management control requirements.
Prepares or ensures that proper supporting documentation exists.
Investigates questionable areas and takes remedial measures.
With general guidance, prepares difficult special, one time, and standard reports, analyses, summaries, presentations, or replies to inquiries, gathering and selecting relevant information from a variety of sources such as reports, documents, other groups, etc.
Uses independent judgment and a thorough understanding of the finance principles involved to analyze, interpret, interrelate data affecting multiple groups, and communicate findings and supporting rationale.
Draws attention to important items and actual or potential problems.
Presents work, including clear and auditable documentation, to management or others.
Representative assignments include reviewing the accounting treatment and validity of reporting of overhead expenses
Checking, verifying, and balancing general ledger accounts;
Analyzing and verifying financial statement assets and liabilities
Inspecting and evaluating accounting controls and procedures.
Lead and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to our client and their division management teams.
Performs other general accounting and finance duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Administration or related discipline.
CPA, or qualified by experience. MBA desirable.
Public accounting firm auditing experience a plus.
At least five years of experience in similar role in the government defense contracting industry and specific experience.
Excellent analytical, project management and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
Excellent computer skills with strong proficiency in Windows™ interface, Microsoft Office™ and solid in-depth knowledge of Deltek Costpoint including Inventory module for job order cost accounting and inventory accounting management.
Familiarity with financial forecasting, budgeting and sound financial analysis.
Must have demonstrated experience in various accounting functions including general ledger, inventory management, SOX documentation / testing / compliance, and other general accounting disciplines.
Must have an understanding of Government contracting requirements such as Forward Pricing Proposal, Disclosure Statement, FAR, CAS, etc.
Strong written and verbal communication, presentation skills as well as exceptional interpersonal, leadership and decision making skills.
Must be available to travel on occasion.
