UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER OF SOUTHERN NEVADA Clinical Nurse Specialist - Pediatrics in Las Vegas, Nevada
Serves as an organization-wide clinical resource for nursing practice and its effect on health care within area of clinical specialization and expertise. Contributes to the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical nursing programs and assists in nursing staff development through involvement in clinical practice, education, consultation and nursing research activities. Provides leadership in defining new practices and developing standards of care, procedures and policies in a Maternal Child setting.
Education/Experience: Master's or Doctorate Degree in nursing from an accredited CNS program with sub-specialization in Pediatric nursing as assigned. Five years of clinical and/or managerial experience or comparable combination of graduate study and clinical experience.
Licensing/Certification Requirements: Current License by the Nevada State Board of Nursing to Practice as a Registered Nurse. License as APRN. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Relevant Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Mobility to work in a typical clinical setting and use standard equipment, including stamina to remain standing and/or walk for extended periods of time, and strength to examine and treat varied patients, vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
