Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served in his/her department. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and provides care needed as described in the departmental policies and procedures.
Apply x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment in accordance to scope of practice per SICP Standard of Practice Guideline. Performs cardiac/peripheral and related procedures to demonstrate anatomic images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor that reflects a high standard of medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for the successful completion of procedures.
Duties(included but not limited to):* *· Must have excellent English verbal and written skills including the ability to understand instruction and medical term and to write procedures · Must be able to perform, review baseline patient assessment, and evaluate patient response to diagnostic or interventional maneuvers during the Cath procedures. · Must be able to operate and maintain all diagnostic and therapeutic equipment used in Cath Lab · Must have working knowledge of radiation safety · Must be able to perform scrub assist duties under direct physician supervision: insertion and manipulation of guide-wires and catheters into vasculature under fluoroscopic guidance for diagnostic and interventional purposes · Must be able to obtain invasive hemodynamic data, cardiac output, and blood samples, recognize normal and abnormal intra-cardiac and vascular pressure waveforms and notifies other team members · Must have visual and auditory acuity to use equipment safely and effectively and to evaluate data accurately · Stamina to wear protective lead gloves and apron during certain procedures for prolonged periods · Works confidently in crisis or emergency situations · Assess patient status, health care procedures and techniques and monitor quality of patient care
EDUCATION:· Completion of an accredited school of Radiography program or** · Completion of an accredited school of Cardio Vascular Invasive Specialty or** · Completion of an accredited school of Certified Surgical Technologist (AST)** * *
EXPERIENCE:· Minimum two (2) years’ cath lab experience or in Operating Room**
Demonstrated experience in establishing interpersonal relationships necessary to promote an effective working environment**
· Demonstrates documented competence specific to Cardiovascular Invasive Procedures with a minimum of two (2) years as a radiographer**
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE: * RCIS – Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist - Preferred * Must obtain RCIS within 18 months of hire * ARRT with two (2) years’ Cath Lab experience minimum * BLS * ACLS * BAR Exam (Passing In-house)
