Summary The Associate Category Manager is responsible supporting the Category Management team for a select portfolio of products; inclusive of all product line strategy, planning, pricing, marketing, sourcing and supply management. Providing analytic and technical expertise to the department, and working cross-functionally across departments, the Associate Category Manager will help execute merchandising strategies as defined by the Category Managers. Category management is responsible for strategies that maximize total contribution, while meeting key business objectives such as quality, availability, and security of supply. The Associate Category Manager will also assist in developing relevant strategies under the direction of the Category Director and Managers. The position reports to a Director of Category Management and is located at the company’s headquarters in Las Colinas. Responsibilities
Analysis: Leverage sales trends, spend analytics, external market intelligence, and competitive information to enable fact-based decision making. Review product line opportunities as assigned.
Assist in data integrity, including cross-reference, product attribute collection, documentation, and other supplier related communication.
Ensure suppliers are performing to contracted service levels and meeting field expectations. When performance issues emerge, interact with suppliers to ensure efficient resolution.
Project Management: Lead or contribute to projects as assigned: Examples: Reduce surplus and obsolete inventory, identify opportunities for cross-functional process improvement, and execute category management strategies such as assortment roll-outs. Requirements Key Attributes

3+ years of experience in a retail or wholesale environment
Demonstrated ability to influence others through both direct and indirect networks; a consensus builder and change agent
Experience with professional category management including product line strategy reviews, planning, and product specification creation across a series of categories is preferred
Experience in supplier management; able to engage with suppliers to drive performance
Possesses strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and track record for capturing value
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
Able to travel up to 10 %
