The Federal Solutions Group is a leader in satellite command and control solutions provider focused on DoD, Civil (NOAA/NASA), and National customers. We are a unique solutions provider in that we mainly integrate solutions with company created products.

We are looking for a Business Development Manager for the Federal Solutions group. The qualified candidate will have demonstrated skills in business development and business capture across NASA or NOAA space government organizations. The primary responsibility of this position will be to plan, lead and manage activities related to the identification, pursuit, and capture of NASA and NOAA Space business opportunities.

Responsibilities include :

  • Development of solutions in response to stated customer needs

  • Development/execution of capture plans and strategies

  • Lead of pursuit and proposal activities

  • Customer relationship management--establish and maintain effective relationships with current and new customers (both government and industry)

  • Work with other internal support staff to prepare proposals, rough order magnitude estimates and responses to customer requests for


  • Directly manage capture personnel assigned to these activities

  • Development of technical white papers for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and National space organizations

  • Day-to-day execution and status reporting of business development and

marketing functions for new opportunities in the above markets

  • Support the development of federal Solutions Group new business roadmaps for the strategic planning process

  • Responsible for relevant strategy development, competitive assessment, and market analysis

  • Should understand Federal Solutions Group core competencies and package them nto offerings to potential customers; develop white papers, briefings and

marketing collateral to support positioning for and capture of new opportunities

  • Gain recognition as a trusted and respected representative of the Federal Group, and influence program awards consistent with customer

requirements and objectives

  • This position reports to the Vice President of the Federal Solutions group

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in a Technical or Business related field

  • 5+ years of experience in Business Development with a strong background with government/industry

  • Experience operating within NASA and/or NOAA Space program environments

  • Demonstrated experience in leading new business capture activities and experience in leading development of government proposals

  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working independently

  • Excellent communication and team skills will be critical to successful execution of the duties of the position. The candidate must be self-motivated, and capable of working independently.

  • Able to obtain a security clearance

  • This position is located in Lanham, MD
