SC Department of Public Safety Administrative Assistant/Customer Service Trainer - 61526 in Lancaster County, South Carolina

This position will be assigned to the Lancaster SC area and surrounding counties but statewide travel is also required.Under limited supervision, the Customer Service Trainer trains new employees on all driver and vehicle transactions. Administers road test for all classes of driver's license including commercial drivers license (CDL) and performs routine to complex transactions in a customer service center.
The Customer Service Trainer may be called upon to perform some or all of the following job duties:
Travels throughout the state to administer the customer service training portion of the New Employee Training program, as needed. Trains participants and conducts assessments, record results and forwards to Customer Service Training Coordinator on a weekly basis.
Performs transactions accurately. Transactions include but not limited to driver and vehicle services such as administering knowledge tests, registering and titling vehicles, surrendering license plates and boxing plates, registering applicants to vote and selective service (if required). Issuing drivers license and managing public inquiries.
When assisting in field offices you will collects and reconcile all fees related to driver and vehicle services and prepare daily reports. When certified, administer road test for all classes and evaluate their ability to drive.
Based in a field office but travels to other offices required by CST Coordinator to conduct training or perform other duties as required.
Conducts various product implementations, training sessions and presentations throughout the year.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
A high school diploma and four (4) years of work related experience that is directly related to the area of employment. Must have at least two (2) years of DMV experience. Must have a valid South Carolina drivers license with a good driving history.
Must complete a nationwide background check to include finger prints prior to being certified to administer CDL knowledge skill tests. Before being certified to administer CDL knowledge skill tests must complete a formal CDL test examiner trainer course and examination that includes Introduction to CDL Licensing System, Overview of the CDL Test and Knowledge Test.
Preferred Qualifications: Thorough and detailed knowledge of South Carolina Motor Vehicle Laws and regulations and SC DMV policies and procedures. Ability to train and mentor customer service employees. Thorough knowledge of driver licensing eligibility requirements. Excellent customer service skills with internal and external customers.
Additional Comments: This position works in the Lancaster, SC area and surrounding counties.
The work requires sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods of time, walking, and constant talking. Employee is exposed to warm or cold temperatures and inclement weather when working outside. Physical skills include lifting, reaching, standing and climbing in and out of vehicles. Limited overtime and overnight stay may be required. Saturday work required at least four (4) times per year
