Nasdaq Senior Applications Operations Analyst in Lakewood, Colorado

Nasdaq Position Overview :Responsible for Daily Systems Operations including Application Management andSupport for all Nasdaq provided services. This includes Technical Operationsand Application Support, managing Incidents for both internal and externalcustomers, installing application updates and maintaining operationaldocumentation and procedures.Your daily working functions would be:* Deploy and support complex in-house Java based applications (95%Linux, 5% Windows)* Performs recovery procedures, scheduling and backups, and monitors batchprocesses and trouble shooting when necessary.* Implement automated solutions and policies to reduce administrative efforts.* Evaluate new technology and tools to identify cost efficient solutions tothe management and operation teams.* Work closely with program management team to define project requirements,assist with project coordination, evaluate software/hardware requirementsand recommend computing solution.* Support operational, failure/recovery and performance testing in boththe test and production environments.* Support all aspects of project life cycle through ITIL basedConfiguration, Change, Service, Incident and Problem management.* Actively identify incidents and as necessary manage the incident resolutionprocess to provide service recovery and manage client communications andexpectations in respect to incident resolution* Under limited supervision,uses expertise and knowledge to performreal-time monitoring of systems for software/hardware errors, failures andcapacity issues; troubleshoot, diagnose and escalate to senior associates.* Under limited supervision, follows procedures for startup and shutdown ofcore systems, recovery procedures, scheduling, backups, and monitorsbatch processes.* Under limited supervision, troubleshoots order entry and market dataconnectivity issues of increasing complexity with clients, exchanges,market centers, and network providers.* Under limited supervision, reviews system capabilities, departmentworkflow, and scheduling requirements.* Under limited supervision, uses expertise and knowledge to configure,install, maintain and upgrade computer systems hardware and software.* Under limited supervision, reviews security of operating systems.* This is a 24x7 environment and the position requires weekend scheduling* This position is not a Systems Administrator or Network Engineeringposition; however, prior experience in these areas is desirableEducation, Professional accomplishments, and Certifications :* Essential: Linux/Unix operating systems* Advanced Scripting experience (Bash/Shell, Python, Ruby, Perl)* Apache Tomcat/HTTP/Kafka/Zookeeper, Jetty, Jboss* SQL (MySQL / Postgres / SQL Server / RDS / Aurora / RedShift)* HP OML / Zabbix - Advanced monitoring/alerting configurations* Java performance tuning* Experience with automated configuration management/provisioning withpuppet, ansible, chef or other framework* Experience with Git, Jenkins, Nexus, Capistrano (CI/CD automatedbuild/deploy pipelines)* Experience administering EC2/AWS environments (VPC configuration,security groups, etc.)* Basic cloud-based network administration skills (NACL, SGconfiguration, DNS configuration, etc.)* Source code versioning repositories and packaging (GIT/SVN/Bitbucket/Gerrit)* Experience with container technologies* Experience with Confluence, JIRA* Experience wr iting and maintaining technical documentation* Source code versioning repositories and packaging (GIT/SVN)* Networking protocols such as TCP/IP networking & routing* Extremely effective communication and presentation skills across all levelsin the organization* Understanding of the SDLC and experience in working in development projects* Have a passion for IT and technical related subjects* Experience working with databases for maintenance tasks, tuning, etc.* Experience working with developers to assist in troubleshooting ofenvironment and configuration issuesEducation Required: Degree qualified in Computer Sci
