Position Summary: General supervision, fabricates metal products from sheet steel and structual steel. Layout, positions, aigns and fits together fabricated parts of structural metal products according to blueprints & layout specifications. Builds conveyor chains, rear post, front post, snow plow parts, etc. Essential Functions of Job: Gathers materials from bill of materials or blueprints. Set up and operation of assinged fabrication machines to cut & shape components to specified dimensions. Aligns & verifies positioning using measuring insturments to determine reference points and compute layout dimensions. Welds simple assemblies with minimal supervision. Knowledge: Knowledge of basic procedures of MIG welding, knowledge of shop math, able to use hand and power tools, able to perform standard measurements, able to communicate effectively both verbal and written, ablw to wear personal protective equipment, able to work overtime as needed. Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED required, technical trade school or 3-5 years of previous welding/fabricating experience. Working Conditions: Work performed in a non climate controlled metal manufacturing production environment. Frequent standing, twisting, bending, stooping, and climbing in and around metal fabricated parts. Frequent lifting, pushing or pulling of 50 pounds alone and 100> punds with assistance. Requires suficient manual dexterity and visual acuity to identify required material and operate produciton fabrication equipment (hand tools, power tools, hand truck, etc.)
