HCA, Hospital Corporation of America CT Technologist PRN in Lafayette LA, Louisiana
Responsible for the performance of all radiographic, fluroscopic, and surgical C-Arm procedures. Ability to work with patients of all ages. Able to maneuver equipment and patients. Utilizes computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. Accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. Performs CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology. Regulates the equipment used to expose the x-ray imaging plate, processes, and archives PACS imaging. Operates equipment safely and maintains A.L.A.R.A. standards while performing all types of procedures. Establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments, and medical staff. Others duties as deemed appropriate by the director.
Position Requirements: Licensure/Certification/Registration:American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (R) Computed Tomography (CT) registered or registry eligible, CT registry within (6) six months of hire; Louisiana license in Diagnostic Radiology Education:Graduate of/American Medical Association/(AMA) approved training program * Experience:Prefer at least one year experience with emphasis on OB/GYN, neonate, and pediatric procedures *Special Qualifications:Knowledgeable with all radiology imaging to include: Fluoroscopic procedures, and C Arm procedures; Clinical experience performing CT scanning is documented.
