Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting is looking for a TAX QA Analyst to work out of our Kennesaw, GA office.

BASIC FUNCTION

The QA Analyst for Tax QA Conversions is responsible for verifying federal and state forms calculate correctly and are accurately designed based on requirements set forth in the form instructions and tax law. The QA Analyst will also be responsible for testing competitor conversion utilities to ensure accuracy according to specified requirements. Responsibilities include executing test cases, writing test cases, reporting defects and troubleshooting. The position may also require a review of user and design documentation to validate program functionality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities include:

Reading, comprehending and interpreting federal and state tax law and tax form instructions

Verifying accuracy and completeness of data transfer from one program to another

Testing new products and features in all stages of development

Owning all steps of the defect life cycle including:

oFinding and reporting defects with detailed, accurate and concise steps to reproduce

oDuplicating reported defects from customers

oAssisting developers in researching defects

oVerifying defect fixes when returned from development in a working build

Executing test plans accurately and reporting results

Providing initial risk assessment of new/ legacy product functionality or integration issues

Reviewing user documentation to ensure accurate descriptions of functionality

Assisting the QA and Development teams in identifying program enhancements

Creating, executing and recording the results of tests

Providing input to the continuous improvement of product testing processes

Reporting issues having a direct and material impact on successful completion of assigned tasks to Test Lead/s or QA

Manager

Implementing product testing practices in accordance with the standards and practices set forth and/or changed by

the QA Manager, consistent with stated project goals and objectives

On an ongoing basis, establishing and maintaining working knowledge and understanding of software test

methodologies, standards, practices and procedures

Participate in small teams committed to Agile Development practices using Scrum methodology.

OTHER DUTIES

Communicating program issues to development, product management, support and other stakeholders as needed

Collaborate with other QA and/or Development teams as needed

Performing other duties as assigned by QA Manager or Leads

Qualifications: JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: BS/BA in Accounting or related field or if no degree, 4 plus years of equivalent work related experience with tax preparation or tax accounting

Experience: 1 -4 years of experience in the following areas:

•Experience in preparing and/or testing federal and state 1040, 706, 709, 990, 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, 1120S, 5500

and Miscellaneous income tax returns

•Strong mathematical and

•Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:

•Experience using TaxWise, Drake, Lacerte, ProSeries or similar software applications for tax preparation is a plus

•Certification as an Enrolled Agent, Chartered Tax Professional, etc is a plus

•Strong working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems

•Strong working knowledge of common desktop tax preparation software (desktop or web-based applications)

•Strong communication skills: Verbal, written, and reading comprehension

•Must be self-motivated, self-disciplined and results-oriented

•Ability to read and follow complex instructions

•Basic understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle

•Basic understanding of testing methodologies and general quality concepts

•Ability to think both logically and abstractly

•Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment, under time-sensitive deadlines

•Ability to use reference materials to research technical issues

•The ability to juggle tasks on multiple test projects concurrently

•Ability to communicate solutions to complex technical subjects and explain them to others who are not technical in nature

•Ability to work with others who are not technically oriented

Preferred Qualifications:

•Strong tax preparation knowledge/experience

•Strong verbal and written communication skills are very important

•Independent team abilities to solve complex problems

•Successful management of multiple tasks/responsibilities concurrently

•Experience succeeding in a very fast paced and dynamic work environment

•Self- motivated, self-disciplined and results-oriented

•Agile software development process experience

•Software testing Microsoft Windows or Web applications
