CFG Health Network Intake Nurse in Kearny, New Jersey

We have full time and part time positions available.

Conducts the initial evaluation of incoming patients to determine the severity of their illnesses and the intensity of services they will require while in the Medical Unit.

  • Provides direct and indirect nursing care to meet the psychological, psychosocial and emotional needs of the inmate-patient within the framework established by the correctional system.

  • Coordinates all daily patient referral and intake operations.

  • Conducts initial evaluation of patient as they are admitted to the Facility.

  • Assists with the implementation of improved work methods and procedures to ensure that patients entering the unit are admitted in accordance with policy.

  • Provides feedback during strategic planning including identifying opportunities for additional or improved services based on medical need.

  • Maintains a comprehensive working knowledge of the Unit’s contractual relationships and ensures that patients are admitted and treated and referred according to contract provisions.

  • Maintains required annual licensure and credentialing requirements for the nursing personnel of the health care unit.

  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.

  • Must conform to the security standards of the institution where employed.
