Engility Corporation is seeking a Software Test Engineer for an immediate position on a growing program in Indian Head, MD supporting the NSWC Technology Division. You would be supporting Department of Defense EOD technicians whom are deployed worldwide and are tasked with neutralizing unexploded ordnance of any kind: conventional, unconventional, improvised, chemical, biological or nuclear. Whether it is by reverse engineering existing ordnance and creating the procedures to make them safe, or spearheading the development of tools and technologies to counter emerging threats, we are focused on exploiting technology and intelligence to develop and deliver tools and equipment, and their life cycle support to the joint service EOD operating forces and other customers. The successful candidate will:
Be experienced in designing and executing test plans and test cases
Have experience with following test plans IAW Govt/DoD policies, etc.
Have demonstrated experience in reporting and documenting test results
10 or more years of recent software testing experience
Active DoD Secret Clearance
Strong communication, interpersonal and human relations skills to interact with clients
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Good oral and written communication skills.
Willingness and ability to pay meticulous attention to detail
Willingness to work extra hours to support tight deadlines
Ability to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams
Satisfy DoD 8570 IAWF Requirements (Security+ and OS certifications)
Experience using multiple testing protocols/methods
Excellent problem solving, debugging/troubleshooting, and negotiating skills
Proficient in creating and executing master test plans, test cases, and test reports.
Ability to comprehend complex usage concepts and assess an application's ability to fulfill them
Experience with Automated Test tools and frameworks
'HP UFT' - Hewlett Packard Unified Functional Testing
Understanding the development and delivery of master test plans, test cases, test reports, and other program documentation
Demonstrated ability to apply appropriate test methodologies including writing test plans and test cases
Experience in creating, reviewing and executing manual and/or automated test cases
Apply an understanding of distributed systems to configure test environments and execute test plans
Work with the software development team to troubleshoot and remediate issues in production environments
Analyze and understand each project's environment, architecture, and interdependencies to determine and apply appropriate test methodologies and cases relative to applications being tested
Use the selected defect tracking and test case management system to document test sets, record defects and record test case execution results.
Ability to work independently and creatively with a minimum of direct supervision.
Proven multitasking skills; required to be a hands-on tester, but also manager and mentor existing team members
