We are currently seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Cape Cod Hospital. PURPOSE OF POSITION: Provides respiratory care to patients. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assess, initiate and administer appropriate respiratory therapies as ordered by the physician. · Administer CPT, IS, MNeb, NTSuction, MDI, US and IPPB treatments. · Provide oxygen, aerosol and tent support. 2. Initiate and provide ventilatory support. · Includes in-house and transport patients. 3. Perform diagnostic procedures. · Includes ABG analysis and bedside spirometries. 4. Respond and support respiratory/cardiac codes and emergencies · Perform CPR, intubation and arterial puncture. 5. Initiate and support hemodynamic monitoring. · Assist in insertion and monitoring of PA lines and arterial lines. · Perform cardiac outputs, cardiovascular workups and maintain ICP monitors. 6. Perform other work related duties as requested/assigned. 7. Attend seminars and educational programs to enhance professional growth and meet the needs of the patients served. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: Job Code 6216 for those with RRT/Job Code 8246 for those with CRT or Per diem · Ability to read, write and communicate in English. · Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT). · Massachusetts state licensure in Respiratory Therapy. Current BLS certification. · Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 6 months of hire and maintain certification bi-annually. · Copy of highest level degree and/or transcript in a clinical field or specialty, If no degree a copy of high school diploma.
