The System Administrator delivers technical and operational support to key applications in the Sponsor enterprise environment. Specifically, the System Administrator supports the operation and migration of existing business systems/services while continuously evaluating new technologies [i.e. Infrastructure-as-code, PaaS, SaaS], to increase efficiency delivering customer-value. Ideally, we are looking for someone that can support multiple projects. In addition, identifying and clearly articulating the requirements is key.

Required:

  1. Minimum 10 years demonstrated on-the-job experience administrating web applications.

  2. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with full-lifecycle software development including analyzing, designing, building, testing, implementing, and supporting in an Agile Methodology environment.

  3. Demonstrated on-the-job experience mapping requirements to corporate architectures and system designs, with relevant documentation.

  4. Demonstrated training and/or on-the-job experience in deploying, automating and using Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies, including AWS Command Line Interface (AWSCLI), AWS SDKs, Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Simple Storage Service (S3), CloudFormation, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), or Cloud Watch.

  5. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with installing, configuring and troubleshooting web and application servers such as Apache HTTPD, Apache Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere, or JBoss.

  6. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Oracle, MySQL, and deploying and operating Linux (e.g. CentOS 6.x) variants in a cloud environment to include implementation of Linux baseline changes (e.g. patching). 6. Demonstrated on-the-job experience working with other technical experts, customers, and providing explanations of complex technical procedures and process clearly and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  7. Demonstrated on-the-job experience learning new commercial off the shelf (COTS) and customer developed software applications.

    Desired:

  8. Demonstrated on-the-job experience leading technical migration in a new environment ensuring the operability of the application upon deployment and sustained O&M.

  9. Demonstrated on-the-job experience developing and deploying applications using DevOps tools and processes.

  10. Demonstrated on-the-job experience supporting and trouble shooting network services using protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, LDAP, SSH, SSL, TLS, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, FTP and NFS.

  11. Demonstrated on-the-job experience auditing and ensuring all production environments are in compliance with Security requirements accreditation.

  12. Demonstrated on-the-job experience building, deploying and administering automated system and application deployments in an enterprise environment.

  13. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with system build tools, such as Chef and Puppet.

  14. Demonstrated on-the-job experience exhibiting time management (i.e., prioritize, organize and accomplish work) and problem solving (i.e., analyzing information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems) skills.

  15. Demonstrated on-the-job experience creating, maintaining and sharing scripts to automate builds for a standard apps configuration such as Tomcat.

  16. Demonstrated on-the-job experience and/or training in building, deploying and administering automated system and application deployments in a C2S hosting environment.

  17. Demonstrated on-the-job experience providing technical guidance to applications teams for builds as they relate to overall administration and C2S cloud-native design patterns.

  18. Demonstrated training and/or on-the-job experience in deploying, automating and using Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies, including AWS Command Line Interface (AWSCLI), AWS SDKs, Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Simple Storage Service (S3), CloudFormation, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), or Cloud Watch.

Education

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.

  2. Master's Degree preferred.

Qualifications

11 or more years of related systems engineering experience.
