The Senior Internal Communications Consultant is a hands-on role responsible for setting the strategy and driving the execution of benefits communications to motivate and inspire 50,000 Aetna employees to engage in their health, financial and well-being benefits. While reporting to the Senior Director of Enterprise and Function Communications, this individual will specifically support HR benefits and wellness. The successful candidate will develop communication strategies that advance Aetna s mission of building a healthier world from the inside out and align with enterprise-level messages. This position is an individual contributor role.

Fundamental Components:

Serve as strategic counsel to HR leaders and develop and execute comprehensive communication plans, focusing on measurement and outcomes.

Set priorities for or with project teams, and build and execute against strategic internal communications plans that support the achievement of business objectives with a specific emphasis on informing and engaging the Aetna workforce.

Create and deliver personal, relevant, and simple messaging to ensure Aetna employees understand and maximize their benefits.

Establish communications strategy for sharing planned benefits changes following the close of the Humana transaction, and support other post-close activities.

Work through Enterprise Communications team to support any external press releases and/or any social media posts as appropriate.

Proactively identify and pursue relevant opportunities to strengthen employee awareness of Aetna s benefits and reinforce our reputation as an employer of choice.

Integrate HR-specific messaging with overall Internal Communications messaging so employees hear and see a consistent approach to issues and responsibilities.

Measure effectiveness of communication efforts, actively review results and proactively suggest adjustments to improve effectiveness based on those results.

Ensure that all communications are error-free, accurate, appropriately approved and consistent with enterprise messaging and Aetna s core values.

Demonstrate track record for proactively identifying opportunities to increase audience awareness and engagement in employee benefits.BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

7+ years of internal communications experience, Fortune 50 experience preferred but not required.

Proven ability to execute upon several high-profile projects with wide-spread impact at once.

Experience in developing executive-level communications and executing successful enterprise-wide communication programs.

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
