2017 Summer Internship – Project ManagementThe Program Delivery Organization provides a consistent, effective operating structure for managing IT projects through sound IT investment analysis, AIS project management methodology, effective AIS project resource allocation, and consolidated AIS project performance reporting. Our undergraduate summer internships are a great way to gain confidence, sharpen your skills and make a difference. An internship with Aetna can prepare you for a great career with our organization. Our program starts on Monday, June 5th and ends on Friday, August 11th and will be offered out of our Hartford, CT, Moon Township, PA, Scottsdale, AZ and Phoenix, AZ offices. The program is open to students actively pursuing an undergraduate degree with an anticipated graduation date that is after the end of our program (December 2017+ graduates).

Interns also participate in:A cross-functional project that provides solutions to a real business issue Aetna is facing, and the chance to present their recommendations to senior leaders at the end of the internshipCommunity service initiativesMentoring programNetworking eventsThe opportunity to learn about our businesses and get exposure to senior leadersFundamental Components:Executes specific deliverables and activities as part of a team assigned to a business-sponsored IT projectContributes to the review of Test Planning and Test Execution strategiesCompletes project activities on time and within budget, and proactively identifies and communicates issues that may jeopardize milestones or project budget to the Project ManagerAdheres to APLC or AGILE project management methodology by utilizing internal procedures and tools and identifying areas for methodology improvementAssists in managing all key project governance documents, such as the Project Charter, Work Plan, Communications Plan, and Risk Mitigation StrategyAssists in managing to the project budget, and reports project cost information in an accurate and timely mannerActs as the liaison between project team members, Project Manager, Program Manager and/or the Portfolio Manager to ensure that expectations and objectives are clearly understood by all parties, and to communicate project information including the status of deliverables, scope changes, and issuesAssists in proactively evaluating project activities, builds contingency plans, executes corrective action, and monitors issue resolution to mitigate risks such as scope and/or budgetBackground/ExperienceGeneral Business/Applying Reasoned JudgmentGeneral Business/Communicating for Impact Leadership/Collaborating for ResultsAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of managementAbility to work independentlyExcellent oral and written communication skillsOverall GPA of 3.3+ (Required)Proficiency with MS Office products

EducationThe highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent experience.
