The Economist India has an opportunity for a Billing Analyst in our Gurgaon office. The Analyst creates manual invoices, ensures contract data integrity and resolves billing issue inquiries. This individual needs to be able to work well with a team and communicate with several levels of management, including the head of finance. The position requires accuracy, advanced English grammar knowledge and the ability to work under firm deadlines.

The role will be based on local hours with some flexibility required to cover day-to-day contact with individuals in the United States.


In this role you would be expected to:

  • Ensure quality of contract data in SalesForce

  • Enter data correctly into the internal Economist system

  • Reconcile data differences between programs

  • Create manual invoices as necessary

  • Work with our distributor to ensure product delivery

  • Resolve billing issue inquiries

  • Maintain backup of contract for audit

Experience, skills and professional attributes:

To succeed in this role you must have:

  • At least four years of billing experience

  • An understanding of current billing systems and processes

  • High proficiency in Microsoft products, including Excel, Outlook and Word

  • Knowledge of SalesForce

  • Excellent time management skills
