What does an Assistant Store Manager at Best Buy do?

As a Best Buy Mobile Specialty Store Assistant Manager, you'll share the responsibility of chief sales driver with the management team and partner on day-to-day operations including sales coaching; staffing, recruiting, and retaining talent; scheduling; inventory control and loss prevention.

Most of our specialty stores are located within a mall and you will lead efforts to \"win the mall\" by establishing relationships with other store leaders, employees and visitors to the mall to drive business and increase customer engagement. You'll also establish and support partnerships with local businesses and organizations to support their technology needs and continue relationships with local colleges and universities to identify future Sales Consultants.

Assistant Store Managers serve as a true consultant, providing personalized, impartial advice to customers and connecting services to products to ensure lifelong product protection. You'll ensure that all areas of the store are clean and bright, optimally organized, and align with merchandising guidelines.

As part of the Best Buy family, you'll be supported with an intensive orientation and ongoing training program to further understand corporate objectives, leadership development and key performance indicators. We want you to succeed!

Key accountabilities:

  • Build sales solutions that engage the customer and drive profitability

  • Supervise a staff of approximately 10 employees

  • Own and promote brand standards in alignment with company vision

  • Motivate and inspire the team to sell, grow, and have fun while being the best

You are required to have:

  • One year of leadership experience in a customer facing sales setting -OR- one year of military leadership experience

  • One year of experience with leadership/coaching

  • Proven experience as a top seller

We prefer candidates with:

  • Associate's degree or higher

  • Experience selling consumer electronics

  • Experience selling mobile devices
