Department Overview

The Data Analytics Reporting Analyst will support the creation of new reporting and analysis to proactively monitor and identify Sales Practices risk across the Consumer Bank. This role will report directly to the SVP – Head of Sales Practice Governance, and will be instrumental to the enhancement of the reporting, analysis, and governance process. The role will partner closely with the Performance Integrity team, and Product and Distribution lines of business to inform appropriate monitoring and analysis.

Preferred skills:

• Proficient PC skills including a strong competency in MS Excel/Access, and a variety of PC based analytical and reporting software packages

• Helpful technical skills would include other advanced programming/querying capabilities (e.g. SAS, SQL, Visual Basic, Python, etc.); additionally, existing knowledge of internal reporting systems/databases is helpful (but not required).

Job Description

The Data Analytics Reporting Analyst plans, creates, and maintains databases in support of departmental activities.

Job Requirements

•May lead a team focused on projects, processes, and/or problem resolution

•Delivers on all aspects of research, analysis, design, support, and testing

•Serves as a subject matter expert

•Provides assistance to team members and may assume a lead role within projects

•Leads the planning, creation and maintenance of complex database(s) in support of department/Company activities

•Consults on database format, layout, and structure given information requirements, using extensive knowledge of database design

•May create and develop the most complex database(s) personally to collect, manage, and report information required by management

•Provides department leadership and may supervise assigned staff, scheduling and assigning work, establishing unit goals and objectives and providing training

•Oversees the submission of data from various Company and outside sources such as vendors, compliance agencies and business partners and directs data flow reviews to improve timeliness and quality of information received

•Executes upgrades and automated interfaces with data-source areas whenever possible

•Oversees and Supports the use of various standard computer applications in the department

•Provides applications and network training and guidance to department staff as needed

•Ensures the design, structure, format, programming and troubleshooting of database(s) is executed timely and accurately

•Oversees the maintenance, modification and streamlining of existing databases to meet changing corporate information requirements

•May create the most complex reports and analyses for senior management and/or mentor less experienced staff

•Implements upgrades as necessary and automates interfaces with data-source areas whenever possible

•Develops user tools/forms to enhance data input and reporting capabilities


•Bachelor’s degree or progressive work experience in addition to experience below

•7+ Years of related experience

•In-depth, broad working knowledge of department activities (including laws and regulations if applicable)

•Proven strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Strong Access skills a must) with database design and troubleshooting skills. Network knowledge, Visual Basic strongly preferred

•Excellent presentation skills utilizing most current tools including Dashboard presentations for diverse audiences, e.g. Senior Management or Board of Directors

•Demonstrated ability to analyze laws and regulations

•Proven ability to build strong, collaborative business and technical relationships as well as other business partners

•Demonstrated project management skills with ability to develop, facilitate and bring to successful conclusion

•Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with ability to translate information so that users can effectively understand and make meaningful informed decisions

•Information processing experience

•Experience designing management reports

•Analytical and design skills to create, audit and change reporting solutions

•Interpersonal skills to work with lending management clients, lending operations sources, IT support staff

•Self-motivated; able to work for periods of time with minimal supervision with the professional confidence to know to ask questions as needed

•Proficient in Excel and knowledge of databases such as Access
