Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, Master’s preferred, Certified Public Accountant preferred, 5 years or more in a leadership role in a relevant healthcare industry, or more than 8 years relevant healthcare experience.
Under the supervision of the Regional CFO and with a matrix relationship with the AW VP of Finance, the Regional Director of Financial Planning is responsible for annual budget development within the Region. This includes the operational and capital budgets for the Region which will be incorporated in the Consolidated Ascension Wisconsin ISOFP. This position will work closely with the Regional CFO to analyze trends / variances that emerge during the fiscal year. This role will transact across / into the two Regions and the Corporate MWF, the ability to work independently and to develop strong working relationship with all levels of management is vital. "Job Summary: Directs financial planning and budgeting activities and resources.Essential Duties •Supports the AW annual budget development process and long-range Integrated Strategic, Operational and Financial Plan (ISOFP) process while leading the North Region Process. This includes completing the roll up of the subsidiary budgets and the development and maintenance of the system standard tools used by the entities to develop the North Region budget. •Support the completion of North Region financial forecast that provides projections on a monthly basis •Leads the development of scenario based forecasts that projects the impact of changes in legislation, strategic initiatives and any other external environment changes. •In support of the AW financial planning process participate on teams intended to improve the system’s budget process, including the development and installation of a new budget and reporting tools.•Coordinate the North Region standard flexible reporting/budgeting process focusing on manageable costs.•Support the developing strategies intended create a North Region growth assuring that it balances the capital needs of the organization with its profitability targets.•Coordinate the North Region capital allocation process including training on the Kaufman Hall or other capital management software, ensuring standardization of software use and process and reporting tools. Approve and track acquisition of capital items. Provide leadership in defining standard capital reporting, ensuring accuracy of information and educate report users.•Utilizing the MIC tool, develop an implementation plan and deploy drill down capability from the budgeting/reporting system into source system detail. •Serve as the North Region subject matter expert over budgeting and financial planning matters.•Develop estimates of the impact of reimbursement changes and obtain agreement from “field” finance staff and Site Directors working in unison with the Reimbursement function.•Serve as key advisor to Vice President, Finance as it relates to the North Region.•Promote movement toward standardization where variation in reporting creates inefficiency. •Participate as needed in initiatives and the evaluation of projects to improve the profitability of entities and the system. This includes items such as evaluation of new information systems, labor productivity tools and approaches. •Respond to ad hoc requests for financial analysis•Other duties and responsibilities as assigned •Travel between locations as required.
