Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, Master’s preferred; Eight years of progressively responsible experience required. Two years of leadership experience preferred.

Description:

The Director of Finance, Ascension Medical Group, directs, leads, coordinates and advises the medical group on all fiscal matters which includes but is not limited to financial analysis, budgeting, strategic planning, practice performance, and capital planning.Works with medical group operational leaders to achieve organizational goals through the development and implementation of effective strategic and tactical plans. Leads the annual financial and capital budget process. In concert with operational leaders, works to understand all material departmental revenue and expense variances and collaborates with same leaders to develop corrective action plans to meet budget goals. These action plans should include both revenue enhancement and cost savings initiatives. Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with both medical group and hospital leaders while working to meet all of their medical group financial information needs. Works to understand all material departmental revenue and expense variances and communicates variances to medical group leaders. Coaches, mentors, and reviews the work of direct reports; assigns work according to availability and skills, and assesses staff performance and provides feedback. Directs all Physician Enterprise (PE) reporting activities, and supports leadership efforts to improve best practices, financial performance, efficiency, communication and quality results. Responsibilities:Supervises and directs the daily operations of the PE Finance department and prepares annual goals, objectives and strategies for the department.|Directs the process of preparing PE's three year financial plan/annual budget including preparation of key assumptions, documentation, and presentation material for senior management and Finance Committee consideration. Directs the preparation of PE’s Integrated Strategic Financial Plan including long range projections of operating results and analysis.|Directs the monthly financial operational analysis activities at the System, ministry market and local Health Ministry levels ensuring consistency and coordination of the cross-functional team.|Coordinates and prepares all PE financial reports and presentations for the CFO Ascension Health, CFO Ministry Market and VP of AMG and other leaders, councils and committees as required.
