Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides complete small to medium solutions for multiple business customer(s).

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, implements, troubleshoots and optimizes performance of assigned databases.

  • Analyzes and assists with definition and documentation of business requirements. Analyzes chain of events and applies technical knowledge following established procedures.

  • Participates in project design, contributing technical insights and ideas. Helps formulate project scope and objectives.

  • Works directly with users on defining new data requirements, resolving project issues, providing user education, and troubleshooting data management problems.

  • Builds and maintains strong working knowledge of the business area and the applications that support AHIS. Develops a basic understanding of the industry and the products and services of the company

  • Successfully troubleshoots most data management problems independently.

  • Produces basic documentation of a new or proposed database. Contributes to project plans, RFPs, and RFIs.

  • Selects appropriate work procedures or approaches to address technical challenges.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Level Degree

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

Work Experience:

  • Two years of experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan future development efforts and support needs, develop database technology oriented plans

  • Perform monitoring, tuning and capacity planning analysis of the production and test database environments

  • Participate in an on-call rotation

  • Work with vendors on installation and support of database solutions and analyze the impact of new releases of application software

  • Provide documentation as needed for the database team as well as other AIS associates, including the creation of Knowledgebase articles

  • Be available as a resource for application project efforts and guide solution development analysts on database technical issues Qualifications

  • Experience required with Microsoft SQL Server (2012, 2014, and 2016) and / or Oracle Database (11g, 12c)

  • Experience required in supporting a 24x7 environment

  • Familiar with servers in a virtual environment including VMWare or Hyper-V preferred

  • Experience with High Availability / Disaster Recovery technology preferred including SQL AlwaysOn or Oracle RAC
