The Production Area Manager role is a key site position with overall responsibility for a manufacturing area within the Mondelēz International Cestas Plant producing Choco bakery products (Mikado, Granola, Petit Ecolier…).

It is a role that requires leadership and motivation of staff at multiple levels to ensure effective delivery of the annual production plan, within the SQDCSM requirements.

The role leads 4 production lines and approximately 60 heads including Operators, Team Leaders and Technicians.

The position has been established to drive value opportunities through the Integrated Lean Sigma (IL6S) methodology. Development of a strong process and continuous improvement culture is expected through building the capabilities of the teams within the production area across the whole SQCDSM agenda..

Primary Accountabilities / Responsabilities:

Act as a Safety leader

  • Develop safety as a value to all employees and reinforce safe behaviour of production team members.

  • Ensure that all safety rules are in place, understood, monitored and followed by corrective actions.

  • Contribute to root cause analysis and ensure corrective and preventive actions implementation in case of safety incident.

Ensure Quality specifications

  • Ensure that all products comply with MEU product specifications and quality policies.

  • Establish the Food Safety roadmap with the support of the Quality coordinator to reduce the customer complaints.

Deliver the production plan

  • Deliver according to production plan following demand requirements to optimize the customer service level.

  • Contribute to maximise the capacity utilisation to support growth.

  • Manage the production output to meet supply chain requirements (Compliance to schedule)

Optimize the conversion cost

  • Manage operational and financial performance of your production area in line with annual operating plan commitment. Accountable for the production KPIs (eg: Global Efficiency, Waste…).

  • Demonstrate strong financial control with regards to the total cost of manufacturing and conversion cost budgeting (DVL, ODVE, Fixed Cost & Waste).

  • Build the productivity roadmap based on the conversion loss tree, with the support of the Section Controller.

  • Manage the continuous improvement/CAPEX projects implementation to support conversion cost optimization.

Lead the Production Area with the IL6S philosophy

  • Act as a servant leader supporting, coaching and developing your team members.

  • Build team culture providing clear understanding of the business requirements and IL6S principles

  • (eg: Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM), behaviours, attitude and culture).

  • Ensure appropriate levels of training and development are in place to increase team capability and autonomy.

  • Communicate plans and information to production teams, track and challenge progress follow through on all commitments.

  • Support the site IL6S journey by taking part to one pillar of the methodology.

Knowledge, skills and experience

3-5 years in Manufacturing environment (Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Team Leader experiences highly recommended)

  • Degree level equivalent education in Manufacturing or Engineering

  • Manufacturing systems (SAP), good PC literacy (MS Office)

  • Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, IL6S, TPM experience

  • Assignments or responsibilities in Quality and SSE

  • Strong people management and communication skills : ability to lead and engage employees at all levels

  • Drive for results : can be counted on to exceed goals successfully, steadfastly pushes self and others for results

  • Identification of main cost drivers for further productivity potential

  • Provide clear understanding of the requirements for the Continuous Improvement Process

  • Handling complexity : problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills

  • Business acumen, good planning and project management skills

  • French and English required
