Job Description

Nucor Steel Gallatin (Ghent, KY), a division of the nation’s largest steel and steel products manufacturer and largest recycler is seeking qualified applicants for:

Environmental Engineer

Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting in the development, growth, and improvement of the environmental program; maintaining environmental records and executing compliance reporting requirements for air and water permits, licenses, rules, regulations, and programs; coordinating and supporting permitting activities; working with, and building relationships with, environmental regulators and inspectors, working with water treatment operations, baghouse operations, and other steel operations; and facilitating continuous improvement related to operation and maintenance of environmental equipment and processes to include engineering, training, audits, and community outreach. Some travel is required.

Job Requirements

Candidates must have a four-year degree in Engineering or Environmental Science. Experience with environmental compliance to include industrial data collection and report preparation preferred. Also preferred is experience in bag house and water treatment operations and managing industrial environmental programs.
