Global Travel (GT) is our 4th largest market within Diageo with Asia and Middle East travel retail accounting for 150 Million GBP NSV and is the biggest future potential market for this business. The region has a diverse profile of customers and shoppers with a complex supply chain having footprint from New Zealand all way across to airports in the USA. In terms of customer profile GT has key global customers in this region, along with large family owned local companies.
S&OP process and improving forecasting accuracy is one of the key focus areas for the business. The demand planning manager role makes a direct contribution in this area and impacts GT’s reputation of being a reliable and predictable business. In the last 3 years there has been sustainable improvement in GT sales forecast accuracy, forecasting capability, tools and S&OP processes.
Context / Scope of Role:
To set up and own demand planning process for GT with a direct deliverable of improving forecasting accuracy. Improvements in S&OP and other business planning processes.
To articulate the business risks and opps through fact-based analysis and courageously present unbiased view to senior management
To help build forecasting capability for sales teams, create tools/processes which help build capability, simplify ways of working
Reporting to the Global Travel Head of Supply Chain for Middle East & APAC, you are responsible for:
Continuing to embed S&OP process and streamline planning in line with Diageo best-in-class practices. Create tools and information systems to enable streamlined planning and forecasting
Delivering Sales Forecast Accuracy of 60% by leading monthly demand reviews with commercial team leaders with deep dive on shipment/depletion trends, activity plans, demand escalations within FIRM zone, reasonability of forecast, seasonality, R&Os
Leading implementation of any SAP/Planning tool improvement projects
Leading capability building for multi-functional team on S&OP, supply chain lead times and demand planning/forecasting processes leading to a step change on quality of demand inputs coming into S&OP reviews
Establishing relationship with key stakeholders and be regarded as a go-to expert for commercial team for planning matters
To be successful in this role:
Educated to degree standard
Knowledge of Diageo supply chain
5+ years of experience
Dealing with ambiguity and create sustainable systems/processes to resolve complex issues
Ability to resolve operational issues in a collaborative way
Communication and Presentation skills
