Litho Assistant Operator in Fulton, NY
Huhtamaki, a leading supplier of drinking cups, frozen desert, and food packaging containers, has an immediate opening for Cup Helpers in the Fulton, New York facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Litho Assistant operator requires ability to operate unwind, web cleaning, printing units, decurl, diecutting/stripping/transfer/delivery/stacking, rewind, and auxiliary press systems. Perform required quality checks on product while packing out product into the required format and container. Prepare, maintain and apply labels and complete necessary paperwork on packaging containers. Maintain accurate inventory control of required packing materials. Assist in size changes on press. Perform set-up duties with the front end or delivery (to include tables, box sealer, scales and other equipment as required). Assist in the changing the following: cassettes, coating cylinder, and die module. Clean print cylinders as required. Assist in make ready: Wash blankets and remove plates. Remove, wash and add inks from print unites while using a spatula and wash chemicals. Assist in the mounting of printing plates. Assist in daily, weekly and monthly press clean up schedule. Assist in palletizing, wrapping and banding waste, cores and plugs. Perform AIB tasks as required and when needed to maintain SQF certification. Proper use of hand tools including but not limited to wrenches, spatula, utility knife, tape dispensers, rulers, band cutters, etc. Perform any additional duties assigned by Supervision or their designee.
High school diploma/GED preferred; The following related education is preferred: National Work Readiness Certificate or BOCES or Vocational Education Training Certificate in related Industrial/Manufacturing Skills, or community college - continuing Education Certificate in related Industrial/Manufacturing/Technical skills, or A.A.S. degree in Technical program field of study (electronics, manufacturing, engineering, computer science.
Have 1-3 years of printing or machine operator experience preferred. Demonstrate proficient computer skills and experience working with automated/computerized machinery. Also preferred: Industrial experience with skilled trades - millwright, carpenter, electrician, operating engineer, laborer, or Industrial experience includes work experience within manufacturing factories, power plants, recycling plants, and paper mills, or work experience in warehousing, distribution center, or high tech material handling environment, or work experience in machining, fabrication and assembly, or metal work, or be active or have been honorably discharged from the U.S. Military.
