AHRC Nassau Employment First/Discovery Specialist in Freeport, New York
Assists in providing outreach to the community in conjunction with central enrollment and community liaison consultant. Conducts intake screening for eligibility into various programs within AHRC Workforce. Participates in completing assessments and evaluations of referred cases, and ensures relevant vocational and employment related recommendations can be made. Assists in the coordination of placement and job development supports so that appropriate placement can be secured for referred individuals.
Bachelor's degree in human services required.
Six (6) months experience working with people diagnosed with Intellectual and/or other Developmental Disabilities required.
1 years career counseling experience preferred.
Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays when necessary.
Valid and qualified NYS Driver’s License, Defensive Driving, POM and CPR Training preferred.
Successful candidate should possess good team building, excellent written and oral communication, and computer (MS Word, Outlook and Excel) skills and maintain a commitment to professional service delivery and the agency’s mission.
