Job Summary –The Graphic Design/Visual Communication Specialist is responsible for timely production of diverse, high-quality graphics to support education projects, communications and operations with Parallon Business Performance Group (BPG). This position creates visual concepts, and executes on the design and development of approved graphic media. The ideal candidate for this role must be capable of being creative within corporate standards, collaborating and producing in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, independently managing assignments, and be open to design input and feedback. This position requires excellent computer, customer service and decision-making skills.

The Specialist must have a demonstrated track record of developing and executing visual deliverables for a range of multimedia products and platforms, including digital/web, video and print. The incumbent will be a collaborative team member, and function as a source of current best practices in all aspects of the creative delivery process.

Duties (included but not limited to):

  • Works in partnership with the BPG Education team to develop, coordinate, edit, and complete assigned content on various graphic media supporting education products, events, services and communications
  • Ensures quality of all creative work through standards
  • Ensures that content meets customer specifications and needs
  • Applies corporate brand and design standards consistently
  • Effectively plans and manages multiple projects within timelines and budgets using basic project management tools
  • Ensures final art meets specifications and is prepped for its target medium (i.e. web, print)
  • Example work products include, but not limited to custom imagery, HTML/web pages, PowerPoint® templates, diagrams, data visualization, video, print and digital newsletters, brochures, posters, event signage, and employee and corporate communications
  • Responsible for conceptualization and stylistic execution of design solutions that meet education and communication strategies from concept to completion
  • Responsible for organization, storage and backup of product files
  • Maintains Parallon BPG Education web pages’ appearance and content
  • Demonstrates Parallon’s values

/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities/ * Graphic art and design experience a must—portfolio required * Strong proficiency in typography and page layout * Ability to work independently, take a high degree of initiative, and adapt to a dynamic environment * Ability to multi-task with proven time management skills * Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and deliver in a deadline driven environment * Must possess strong attention to detail and be able to work in a collaborative team environment * Thorough knowledge and experience using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver) * Thorough knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint * Thorough knowledge and experience working with web page development (HTML and CSS) * Thorough knowledge and experience working with video capture and editing (Camtasia, Adobe Premier a plus) * Experience utilizing SharePoint for file storage and sharing * Experience with desktop publishing, copywriting, and editing a plus * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Ability to synthesize large amounts of data or information into clear, user-focused material or designs to support effective understanding and learning * Experience with corporate design a plus

/EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE/ * A bachelor’s in graphic design, marketing, or equivalent design-related field * Minimum of 3 years design experience using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) * Healthcare background/experience a plus
