Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Software Developer's primary function is to develop, produce, and maintain various solution/systems for PPMSI’s growing business needs. This person will also provide technical support as needed for other software utilized by PPMSI.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Design, develop, test, and release custom solutions to internal systems including but not limited to, new in-house applications and enhancements to internal/external EDI infrastructure.
Create, schedule and maintain reports in SQL Server and Microsoft Access.
Monitor jobs run through SQL Server/PPMSI scheduler and correct any anomalies.
Create and manage project/documentation(s). Facilitate necessary meetings and prepare necessary status reports to ensure project tasks are being completed in a timely manner.
Develop and support company websites. Develop and support web-based tools for internal and/or external users.
Create required reference material and provide detailed design and implementation guidelines, alternative approaches, time/cost development estimates.
Document processes and maintain report request/helpdesk logs.
Participate in team design sessions and code reviews
Keep upper management informed of system and operational issues.
Ensure quality of reports
Coordinate testing of system enhancements/implementations.
Develop & maintain EDI transfer application(s).
College degree or equivalent work experience.
Computer programming or business major preferred.
Advanced SQL Server programming and administration skills.
Experience with Visual SourceSafe or other source code control systems.
Experience with ASP.NET and C#.
Strong knowledge of MS reporting service.
Strong knowledge of healthcare claims and finance processes.
Technical writing experience, preferably documenting system procedures.
Strong system experience and ability to learn new system structures.
In-depth understanding of IPA and MSO medical management business model and processes.
Ability to understand system interfaces and organization operations and work as a team member to identify issues and develop solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to review information to resolve user problems.
Minimum 3 years development experience with Microsoft SQL Server Transact SQL (“T-SQL”), with an emphasis on complex stored procedures and complex database queries. Candidate should possess an “expert” knowledge level.
Minimum 3 years development experience with C# (C-Sharp) programming language. Candidate should possess an “expert” knowledge level.
Minimum 2 years development experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (“SSIS”) or its predecessor, Data Transformation Services (“DTS”), with an emphasis on complex package development. Candidate should possess an “intermediate” knowledge level.
Microsoft SQL Reporting Services (“SSRS”) admin, development experience is a definite plus.
