Community Health Systems Patient Care Associate (Nurse Tech) in Fort Wayne, Indiana
Under the immediate supervision of the Team Leader or Team Specialist or other designated management and the clinical leadership of a Registered Nurse, provides auxiliary patient care services to meet the personal and routine care needs of patients, and provides clerical services to meet the needs of the nursing unit.
Licensure: Must obtain and maintain certification in Basic Life Support (CPR) within 60 days, basic EKG successfully completed within 90 days.
Experience: Prefer one year of unit secretary and/or nursing technician experience.
Education: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Other: Demonstrates a basic understanding of the roles of a Unit Seretaryand Nursing Technician in relationship with other medical services Team Members.Requires a basic understanding of the related behaviors, needs, and comfortmeasures appropriate to the age (including pediatric, adlescent, adult, and geriatric)and diagnosis of the patient served in order to support the provision of anindividualized multidisciplinary plan of care.Age of patient served per area of assignment:Medical/Surgical - pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatricTelemetry - adult and geriatricLabor and Delivery - pediatric, adolescent, adultMother/Baby - pediatric, adolescent, adultNICU - pediatricObservation - pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatricPre-admission Testing - pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatricSurgery - pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatricPost Anesthesia Care - pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatricPre-Surgery - pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatricEmergency - pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatricDemonstrates well developed interpersonal and communication skills (both verbaland written) necessary to interact effectively with all internal and external customers.
