Regional Manager, Caribbean Blue Cities

Position Summary: The Regional Manager oversees the Caribbean Blue Cities operations with a focus on Safety, Compliance and ensuring all Customer Experience expectations are met. The Regional Manager also manages the operational performance of the Caribbean Blue cities while achieving or exceeding the established performance measurements. The Regional Manager is responsible for coaching and developing Crewmembers and Crewleaders with the appropriate technical and soft skills.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that quality of customer experience is representing the high expectations Customers have for JetBlue

  • Recruitment and develop of Crewmembers and Crewleaders with the appropriate technical and soft skills.

  • Review and manage the operational performance by overseeing the daily flight operation to meet or exceed the established performance goals

  • Administer team budgets and monitors monthly expenditures to meet expectations of Caribbean BlueCity budget goals. Manage the Cost per Available Seat Mile (CASM), cost per departure and Crewmember productivity hours.

  • Manages all Business Partner relationships and monitors performance and compliance with all Service Level Agreements.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with other departments in improving communication and teamwork

  • Develop short and long-term vision for department; demonstrates forward-thinking in planning and execution

  • Maintain qualifications and knowledge for both Airport and Ground Operations Crewmember functions

  • Schedule and complete regular visits to all Caribbean BlueCities to deliver leadership support and stay connected to front line Crewmembers

  • Provide regular communication to Crewleaders on the activities and developments in the Company and in the region

  • Ensure team readiness for response to significant irregular operations and emergency events

  • Participate in ad hoc committees; respond to ad hoc requests to establish, develop or re-visit guidelines, policies and/or procedures as they pertain to the operation or the Crewmembers

  • Act as Incident/Event Manager during irregular operations, and central point of contact for all station related operational decisions in conjunction/coordination with System Operations

  • Proactively review team performance and recommend enhanced operating practices and procedures to improve performance

  • Develop balanced metrics to ensure the performance and prosperity targets for the team are achieved and continuously challenged

  • Recommend changes to curricula and delivery of JetBlue practices and procedures to increase learning and efficiency

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma

  • Seven (7) years of related experience in a leadership role

  • Seven (7) years of Part 121 airline experience

  • Strong verbal and written Bilingual – English/Spanish communication skills

  • Strong Customer Service Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer

  • Ability to maintain a poised demeanor while working in a fast paced environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to engage all people and all types of personalities and agendas

  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, logically and coherently

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Results oriented with the ability to balance other business

  • Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities

  • Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency and attention to detail

  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge

  • Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence

  • Must be willing to travel 70-90% of the time (overnights required)

  • Currently in possession of a valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States and/or other international JetBlue Cities

  • Be willing to travel as needed for training and company sponsored meetings

  • Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Seven (7) years airline experience with direct responsibility for managing a large operation, preferably with a Part 121 Domestic Scheduled Passenger Airline

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

  • Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion, and Fun


  • Computer and other office equipment, cell phone

  • Tug, push back tractor, forklift, deicing vehicle and other ground service equipment

  • Jetbridge

  • All Informational Display Screen systems (RIDS,FIDS, BIDS, GIDS, SPIDS)

  • Ground service equipment, hand held radios, scanners, light emitting diode (LED) signs, mail and cargo equipment as necessary

Work Environment:

  • Airport environment

  • Inclement weather

  • High noise area (jet engines)

  • Irregular hours due to irregular operations

Physical Effort:

  • Must be able to fulfill requirements of the Airport Operations Crew and Ground Operations Crew positions including lifting requirements of up to 100 pounds
