HVAC Technician - Mobile - Company van and tools supplied

Job Summary:

Specializes in performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC equipment. May also performs preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on buildings, equipment and grounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Attends weekly toolbox safety meetings with Operations Supervisor and other associates. Utilizes mandatory safety equipment to perform tasks. Obtains and completes Viox/EFS required training.

Performs assigned work orders according to schedule. Obtains necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.

Performs compressor and HVAC system change-outs when needed, i.e., package units & split systems, when required. Lubricates fans, motors, bearings, and control units.

Operates refrigerant recovery equipment, vacuum pumps, charging equipment and service gauges.

May also occasionally perform building repairs, i.e. carpentry, dry wall, plumbing or electrical.

Estimates time and materials needed to complete repairs and works with the Operations Supervisor so they can provide our client a written quote for work that we cannot perform within our basic dollar approval limit.


High school diploma or state equivalent required, minimum of two years of related trade schooling or two years of college.

At least 3-6 years HVAC experience in mobile operations, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and AC equipment.

CFC Certified (EPA Refrigerant Certification) HVAC Journeyman or Warm Air Installer’s License. Certifications/license may be required by local or state jurisdictions. Two years of technical training in the HVAC field or equivalent. Additional certification in one or more of the following is a plus: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, painting, plumbing, carpentry. Must possess valid driver license.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Complete assigned work orders in a timely manner and communicate work order status via our Handheld or other designated business process.

Excellent customer service skills; ability to successfully interact with clients/vendors/contractors.

Ability to use and operate handheld device and business systems or document management Database software, including but not limited to Microsoft office, Lotus Notes, MS office (word, Excel).

Complies with all applicable codes, regulation, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety. Performs assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance.

Maintain adequate knowledge of and comply with OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and Company safety policies at all times.

Experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.

Daily local travel between properties.
