The main role of this position is to act as the primary point of contact for Consumers, as well as Outboard dealers and boat builders, and to respond promptly and consistently to product issues while providing the highest level of technical support and customer service.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical support and customer service to Consumers, Outboard dealers and boat builders.
Respond promptly to customer contacts via telephone, fax, email and MercNET.
Take ownership of customer complaints and follow them through to resolution.
Evaluate product failures to ensure consistency in warranty and customer relations adjustments.
Represents office of the president and the chairman of Brunswick relative to consumer issues, using the President Hot Line.
Provide support to Mercury Marine field service personnel.
Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:
Requires logical thought processing skills and a working knowledge of Mercury Marine policies and procedures.
Must possess the ability to make consistent independent judgements.
Must possess the ability to resolve complex issues to the satisfaction of multiple parties.
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must possess the ability to interact with diverse personalities while remaining tactful, professional and flexible.
Must take ownership of projects and follow through to completion.
Must possess strong computer and organizational skills.
Must possess the ability to thrive in a fast paced, high pressure environment with minimal oversight.
Must possess a strong work ethic and the desire to succeed.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduate of Technical College preferred.
Two to four years of technical experience in the marine industry or related field.
Experience servicing or repairing Outboard products is a plus.
