This requires knowledge of human services and/or the child welfare field, as well as strong communication, website, and technology skills. The Content Specialist plays a key role in collaborating across Information Gateway project teams, collaborating with the client and key partners to accomplish content development activities, project tasks and client goals. Responsibilities include development and enhancement of current web content products and tools; website maintenance activities, project management; representing Child Welfare Information Gateway at conferences and meetings; and response to client needs.

This position will be located in the Fairfax, VA office and requires occasional travel to regional and national conferences. _Key Responsibilities:_ Collaborate with subject matter experts, print, and digital media teams to create new website content and tools Participate in Children s Bureau special initiative work as assigned Work closely across teams to conduct ongoing website maintenance, quality assurance/quality control of content posted on the Information Gateway website Collaborate with project colleagues and key partners to respond to high-level customer and client requests, participate in conferences, and meetings with clients and partners Write or contribute to new and updated Information Gateway publications, including Children's Bureau Express articles; Represent Information Gateway at national and regional child welfare conferences Participate in training project staff on new and updated content and web tools Additional duties may include: Perform web-related analysis and evaluation Supervise junior staff

Qualifications

_Basic Qualifications:_ __ Bachelor s degree plus 5 years experience Experience with human services and/or knowledge of child welfare issues and services on a national, State, or local level Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Familiar with following style and standards for content development Preferred Skills/Experience: Familiar with MS Project Experience using technology or software to manage projects Experience using a content management system (CMS) to post content to the web Familiar with conducting webinars Familiar with website design and basic HTML coding Professional Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical staff Team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks under critical timeframes and work in a fast-paced environment Sound business ethics, including protection of proprietary and confidential information Excellent problem solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions Strong attention to detail Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism and a cooperative attitude Ability to be flexible to handle multiple priorities and to work limited overtime as necessary
